"Intense tropical fruit, honey and a mere hint of oak. Balanced with vivid acidity." Natasha Hughes, Decanter
Jurancon whites are much respected by wine professionals and have a reputation for some of France's most elegant and complex white wines. They are premium aromatics famous for their balance and freshness.
Seduction is a fabulous sweet white that matches many food types or enjoy as an aperitif. Like the Pacherenc du Vic Bilh in our range, this wine has no botrytis. It’s just the concentrated flavours of grapes that are drying on the vines.
Pronounced white truffle aromas and flavours make Séduction a rare and delightful experience. Rich and sweet with the waxy oiliness of Petit Manseng grape. Rounded with a hint of the oak it was aged in and lovely citrus character, excellent acidity and superbly sweet.
Château Jurque is a small premium estate in the French Pyrenees mountains on the border with Spain.
Serve in a large glass and swirl it around and tremendous aromas of white truffles unfold and become dominant and all consuming. In mouth, after a fresh and round attack, there is the complexity of what the nose has experienced and again white truffles. The mouth is powerful and smooth, that is why this Jurançon seems so pure and elegant: Petit Manseng grapes offer great balance in the wine.
Séduction can be drunk young or cellared for at least 10 years.
Séduction is at its best as an aperitif, with foie gras, smoked salmon, white meats, creamy fish dishes, blue cheeses and desserts such as chocolate desserts or baked apple and pear tarts. Serve chilled at 10 to 12°C.
13% alcohol. 500ml bottle.
Terroir: Château de Jurque is a 5 hectare estate run by Marion Latrille since 2000. It is located on the superb hillsides of the "Chapelle Rousse" district. Soils are a blend of argyle and limestone. The vineyards are planted on the South/Southwest exposed slopes, with Gros Manseng and Petit Manseng grape varieties.
Grapes: Séduction is a 100% pure Petit Manseng.
Harvesting for Seduction is by hand and starts around November and selectively continues for two weeks. Thanks to the "passerillage" (natural drying up on the vine) the grapes have withered and produced greatly concentrated flavours. Because of the climate there is no botrytis.
Wine making: After a total destemming and a maceration before fermentation, only the free-run juice (juice obtained before pressing) is used for this wine. This results in all the best of the richness and the aromas from Petit Manseng grapes. After the cold settling, the alcoholic fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks.
Ageing:The ageing in tanks is around 20°C to preserve all the aromas. Then the wine is aged for 9 months in oak barrels (15% new wood).
